Heading to Canada

8 comments on 176 words

It’s been kinda quiet around here as of recently. I haven’t published any exploratory or informative articles in a while. I do have excuses though. We’ve been plugging away at Shopify and I’ve also been preparing for my two week trip to Canada to meet the rest of the JadedPixel team for the first time and to also prepare Shopify for beta.

I’m sure I’ll get in a blog or two while I’m gone unless I happen to get frozen to the sidewalk in Ottawa!

On a related note, we just published another new screenshot of Shopify on the Jadedpixel blog.

At least you’re not going to Quebec, the forecast is 20 C° for tomorrow!

It always help to know your team, on a personal level.

Have fun in the snowfields and don’t freeze your bum off.

At first I thought you were talking about Canada on Rails!

Hopefully we’ll meet some other time.

Not all of Canada is snowfields – whatever that means anyways. Ottawa is a huge metropolitan city and only on the very outskirts do you see some semblance of actual snowy nature, far away in the Gatineau’s.

Geof: To someone who gets only a drizzle of snow every other winter Ottawa is definitely snowy nature!

We rarley get snow that sticks in Memphis, TN so when I walk outside and it’s nothing but white thats the impression I get. I don’t think Tarellel’s comment was meant in a derogatory manner.

I’m having a blast though, and it’s not really cold because Canadians dress well for the weather. :-D

Justin – Oh I was not offended, not in the least.

It’s just that when you grow up in Canada you become a little jaded towards Americans who think that as soon as you cross over the border, it’s all icebergs and polar bears. Really, we have loads of sun, warm temps and summertime to be enjoyed.

Sorry if it seemed like I was jumping too hard – just a bit of fun, much like this – some innocent humour that only Canucks can understand :)

Ah, my mistake. It’s really hard to gauge emotion in Lucida Grande. ;-)
